The picture above depicts (from left to right) R. Murray Schafer, Joe Macerollo, and Gunther Herbig, as they discuss the Accordion Concerto score before the historical debut performance with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.  The picture was taken in a suite at the Four Seasons hotel in Downtown Toronto.  

Here we see Herbig asking Schafer and Macerollo questions about the piece, as he is amazed to learn that the music on the page is playable on an accordion!  So to would those in attendance be amazed, when the Concerto was performed at Roy Thompson Hall on March 31, April 1, and April 2, 1993.
