Duell

The
Swedish composer Torbjorn Lundquist wrote Duell in 1966 for the great
accordion pioneer Mogens Ellegaard and percussionist Bengt Lylloff.
Lundquist was fascinated with the endless possibilites which this
instrumental combination offered. More
Alexina Louie's Earth Cycles was commissioned by
Joseph Macerollo in 1987 with the assistance of a grant from the Ontario
Arts Council. Written for accordion and pre-recorded tape, it
consists of three movements. More
Toronto is blessed with a breadth and wealth of
musical excellence which can be envied internationally. When given
the opportunity to record two works involving accordion and string
orchestra, the ensemble of choice for Macerollo was The Composers'
Orchestra under the baton of Gary Kulesha. More
